Is the National Leader position paid?

No, all expenses are paid the same as participating youth.  Click Here for details.

How does the application process differ?

  • The deadline is earlier than that for participating youths

  • The application requires a resume to be submitted.

  • The application form includes extra questions.

What level of language ability is required in both French and English?

As English is the language of instruction and discussion during the program, all applicants must be able to facilitate and lead discussions in English, particularly the National Leader.  French is one of our official languages and therefore it is expected that the National Leader can converse in both English and French within the Canadian Delegation.

Have all past National Leaders been fluent in both languages?

The Selection Committee is dedicated to sending the best candidate possible and in some years, a unilingual candidate was chosen based on the strength of their application.
